This is another creation from me for PICOpad GFI, ported from many sources. It’s NOT perfect, but it’s usable. Honestly, at first, i thought, i will not release this until all bugs is solved, but some friends keep pushing me to release for public. Finally after rethink, i decided to release this with pre-caution for known issues. Maybe, like Linuz said, given enough eyeballs, all bugs are shallow … hehehe. Feel free to download, learn it, analyze it, improve it and re-share it again somewhere and anywhere, it’s all yours. At last, try for yourself, and lets begin.

Since this is a porting rom, not build from source, not all peripheral working, and you must know before continue :
The PICOpad GFI had many variants on the peripheral devices, such as camera type, lcd type and wifi module, and this is only create frustrating for some custom rom developer, including me. 🙁 some rom will works on one device and not on others because the module isn’t same. Basically, this can be categorized in two group : device with mt6620 wifi chipset module and devices with mt6628 wifi module.
Known issues for device with mt6620 chipset :
FMRadio
The fmradio can be run without problem, but the sound is not come out from speaker or earphone.
That is the only problem i cannot solved on this mt6620 device.
Known issues for device with mt6628 chipset :
Thanks for Sammy who tested this for us.
1. Camera
The camera is working but there is some issues. For back camera the saturation is a little bit too high and the hue color smears to magenta, thus it’s looks pinkish if the object was black, it’s ugly, yes, i know
Front cam is better, the picture is OK, no problem whatsoever. If you’re very concern about taking picture most of the time, please be aware of this limitation, you may consider NOT to flash this custom rom, just stay with your 4.1.1 rom and be happy with your device.
2. FMRadio
The fmradio can be run without problem, but the sound is not come out from speaker or earphone.
Unless you have a good suggestion how to make this work, no need to complain this issue over and over again asking me to fix it, because, believe me, i already tried every possible way to make this work but always facing a dead end. In the other hand, I would greatly appreciate if someone with knowledge on this area can help to solve the problem and give inputs.
And here we go the custom rom :

And here is the steps to flash this custom rom :
Requirement and Preparation :
- Read this thoroughly :
Your warranty is now void !!!
I am not responsible if you brick your phone, get stuck in a bootloop, or if your phone grows arms and tries to kill you. Flash at your own risk!
Please do some research if you have any concerns about risk of flashing a custom rom before continuing! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you!!
If you have any other objection, don’t bother to comment, just close this page! - This custom rom need a custom recovery to flashed into the device, if you haven’t got it, get it here : cwm and twrp recovery for PICOpad GFI. Both are working good for this device, get it whichever you like.
Flashing Process :
The steps to flash this custom rom is pretty straight forward :
- Download the custom rom from link above and copy it to the root of your sdcard, you may check it first with your file manager to confirm it was there. There are two sdcard storage on this device, so you must know it’s at the internal sdcard or external sdcard. I prefer you to put this on external sdcard to avoid any difficulties.
- Boot into recovery mode by turning off your phone, hold down Volume + button then press power button, hold them both until you see axioo logo on screen then release it. Wait a sec or two … then you’ll be in recovery mode.
- BACKUP your stock rom and data using BACKUP feature, make sure you use external storage as destination because this backup is relatively big.
- Choose Wipe Data / Factory reset and execute it.
- Choose Wipe cache partition and execute it
- Choose Wipe Dalvik Cache and execute it
- Go back to main menu, and choose Install
- It will open a list of file on your sdcard, choose the custom rom zip file that you put on step 1 and flash it.
- After the installation completed, choose Reboot System
- Done
Here is the result after flash :
Enjoy your PICOpad GFI on 4.2.2
